Penturning networking

The penturning community is alive and well. If you’re looking for a place to gather new ideas, share some of your own and show off your work then check out these networking sites (in random order).

IAP – International Association of Penturners – Open to penturners at all skill levels. This forum is very active and has a large membership from around the world. It also features a library of articles and marketplace for all things pen related.

Yahoo Penturners Group – Another active message board with informative discussions, photo album, and tips and tricks. Classified ads are allowed by members, only check the rules first to understand the posting guidelines.

Pen Makers Guild – By invitation only, this group is for experienced pen turners. The message board is open for anyone to view, but only members can post messages. Looking for inspiration, then don’t miss the photo gallery.

The Aluminum Pen Makers Group – A Yahoo group dedicated to aluminum pen making.

The Pen Shop – Open to penturners after completing registration. While not as active as some of the other sites, this forum has lots to offer penturners at all skill levels.

Sawmill Creek Woodworkers Community – A very active forum with broad range of discussion on most things woodworking. The site is well organized with categories for woodturning, freedom pens, laser and many others. You can definitely lose track of time here.

Pen Turning Facebook group – If you’re on Facebook, check out what’s being posted in the Pen Turning Group.

Pen Turning Supplies Facebook group – Another group on Facebook with several members that supply various pen related items.

Penturning Supplier List  – Directory of suppliers for pen turning items.

 

I’m sure there are many more networking sites that I’m not aware of. Feel free to share if you have a favorite.
